The ARAFA MEDICAL MISSION HOSPITAL, also known by the name ARAFA HOSPITAL is one among the prominent major healthcare centres in Kerala ,located at Kadakkal Town, Approximately 40 km from Kollam Town & 50 km from Trivandrum city, 5 km from Nilamel , in the TVM - Kottarakara sector of M.C Road. AMMH is well reputed among the public especially for the specialty services available and the charity services rendered to the poor and under-privileged in Kadakkal area and the nearby localities.

It was founded in the early 1970"s by Dr.AM ABDUL GAFFAR.MBBS,FICA(USA), Founder & Chairman of ARAFA GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS

From a humble beginning in 1976 as a small dispensary to cater to the health needs of a rural community, AMMH has now developed into a 300-bedded Multi-specialty Centre with facilities for all diagnostic and surgical procedures. AMMH renders services not only in the field of hospital care , but also in the field of preventive and promotive healthcare, educational and comprehensive development, welfare services along with community health.

Contributing further in to the field of medical education, AMMH started the functioning of ARAFA SCHOOL OF NURSING in the year 2006,offering 3 1/2 year - General Nursing & Midwifery course. The functioning of the school of Nursing commenced with the approval of both [INC]-Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and [KNMC]-The Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council, Trivandrum with an annual intake of 30 students sanctioned by the INC.

The priliminary works for a College of Nursing offering B.sc in Nursing is on schedule , expected commissioning in the academic year 2013-14 : Affiliated to Kerala University , Approved by INC & KNMC, with an annual intake of 50 students.

Plans are aloft for starting various other courses such as D.Pharm , Dental & Medical colleges and a Super Specialty Tertiary Care Centre in the near future.
